“My philosophy is simple and it’s based on working in the public sector for 25+ years…Hire the right people, put your trust in them, and give them the freedom to do what they need to do to get the job done.”
After 20+ years as a City Manager and Interim Administrator and 20+ years of owning and managing an executive search firm, I have decided that I would like to stay active in some sort of useful capacity. To that end, I am pursuing a career as an Executive Coach, working primarily with public sector executives.
In August of 2015 I began the process to become certified as an executive coach and received that certification in the fall of 2015 from the Center for Executive Coaching (CEC). The CEC provides the certification by following the guidelines and procedures as outlined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Attached are two documents: the first one is an explanation of my approach to coaching and the second one is an article I recently authored on Engaging and Mobilizing Employees. Please take time to read one, or both, and I am hopeful you will find them worthy of your attention.
Also, as part of my coaching practice I plan to conduct a series of seminars over the next several months on a variety of topics including Engaging and Mobilizing Employees, Career Planning, Strategic Planning, Power Base Coaching, Interviewing Techniques, and other topics. I will be doing these as an affiliate of huelife, formerly known as Brimeyer Fursman.
I am willing to come to your office, meet for coffee or lunch, or even meet after work at a location of your preference to discuss some options for personal coaching or for any members of your staff. Or, if you prefer, give me a call or text me and we can have a discussion. I am also now on Linkedin and will be posting on that site from time to time.
