where purpose meets action

At HueLife, our work goes beyond workshops and boardrooms. Rooted in a belief that meaningful change happens when people come together with courage, empathy, and intention, we actively partner with communities and organizations around the world to support transformational leadership, youth empowerment, and collaborative problem-solving.

This page highlights a few of the missions that are especially close to our hearts. Whether we’re supporting youth leaders, facilitating multi-national dialogues, or partnering with local changemakers; each initiative is an extension of our commitment to human understanding and engagement.

Mission Update

We are excited to announce that our Ukrainian Youth Leadership (YouLead) program will be hosting 16 students (Ages 16-17) and two chaperones August 9 through September 15. We received 282 applications for the program that can handle only 16. Immediately following the lockdowns of COVID, the onset of war and with the intense bombardments and life on the edge have given this group of Ukrainian youth the mindset of living every moment today and that if they wake up tomorrow it’s a bonus. They bring an ironic abundance of optimism and determination. The following are a few paragraphs from one applicant that captures the sense of the other 281.

The opening of the letter from Mykola Okhrimenko: (17 years old)

The war made me start my life from the beginning. The rockets destroyed my house, so my family was forced to run under constant shelling in an unknown direction. The kind volunteers accommodated us in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region. It’s a frontline city, but a safer place to stay. Living in cramped conditions with six of us in a one-room apartment, I have been sleeping on the floor for three years and studying at a small picnic table. However, I am so happy and grateful for staying alive with my family despite all the struggles.

I lost my peaceful life and material possessions, but it taught me to value moral qualities more and the importance of community support. I was inspired by the volunteers who helped us, so I decided to give back to my new community. I became a volunteer at Church and the Youth Initiative Center by City Hall. I organize workshops for displaced children like me. These experiences ignited my passion for leadership, youth empowerment, and rebuilding Ukraine.

He ended with….

The YouLEAD program is vital for me! I want to learn, study, and contribute as an active participant, sharing my personal experience and promoting the program’s 39 values after home arrival. This program will help me on my way to restore and strengthen Ukraine through leadership, education, and economic development. I am ready to embrace challenges and exchange knowledge. Cultural exchange in America is my dream! I promise to be the best representative of Ukraine in YouLEAD 2025. By the way, I am a great chef, so all Americans will taste my Borsch:)

If you find yourself wondering how to help, we will gratefully accept:

  • The program costs $5,000 per student and is funded 100% through donations.

  • If you would like to have your own life changed and are living in the Twin Cities with a room to share with an amazing youth, be a host family for five weeks.
